Friends (and myself) love onions and what better can you bring along to a BBQ than an appetizer that’s right down their alley? So that is exactly what I did and it was great. Again quite simple to prepare, so a winner!
Here is what you need to prepare:
Ingredients:
1 puff pastry (rectangle)
2 really large onions (they are sweeter and caramelize better)
A bit of Balsamico vinegar
A little honey
Thyme (a few twigs)
Directions:
Pre-heat the oven to air circulation to 200°C.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut the onions into approx 1/2cm rings (keep them whole).
Put a small dash of liquid honey and balsamic vinegar on top of each other plus the thyme twig on the parchment paper, so you can place the cut onion on top. Now use a glass to cut out round pieces of the puff pastry to place over each onion.
Place in the oven for approx 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Enjoy!
