Some weeks just call for comfort food and this sugar tart fulfills this. Its sweet taste makes the world look a lot better again! It’s perfect for an afternoon tea time or as a dessert. Or just when you feel the time is right. Enjoy! Oh and you can of course decorate the cake in different ways – Halloween style, with icing sugar or just with whipped cream. Sometimes its just super nice to reminisce about the last vacation you had…and for me this involves the thought of a delicious Valdostana. Last time I enjoyed a piece was at the pool side for lunch in Italy. But what is a Valdostana? It’s a puff pastry quiche style dish filled with ham and cheese. Perfect to go with a green or cucumber salad.
Fall is really here now – the cold temperatures definitely show this. So this heralds the soup season…
Here is the first soup of the season recipe which has a little tang to it with the special topping, giving the pureed consistency of the soup a little crunchy touch to it and the pear adds freshness. Of course you can leave out the pear if you prefer.

It’s cake time! This is another reason I like the end of summer and the start of the colder season. It gets colder outside and a coffee & cake combo in the afternoon is just pure bliss. Relax a bit, either with a good friend, catching up on life or just for yourself with a little me-time. Just as a little info – the cake is not super sweet with the amount of sugar, but just right, for my taste at least!
