Thanksgiving is around the corner and this year round, I wanted to prepare a new pie. We had a pre-thanksgiving-dinner at our friends place. Everyone brought something and our contribution was a pecan pie (and carrot cake – recipe to follow soon). Once again, an easy to prepare dessert…

See how to make here:

For the pie filling:
1 cup (approx. 140g) brown sugar (I used muscovado)
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 cup butter (approx. 140g), melted
2 tablespoons milk
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
200g pecan nuts

Possibly have whipped cream in the house to serve with the pecan pie!

For the crust:
200g flour
100g butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
3-4 tablespoons cold water

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C (air circulation).

For the crust:
In a mixer, combine all the ingredients and then spread the dough into a pie form.

For the pie filling:
Melt the butter in a pan (or microwave if you have one). Mix together with the sugar, flour, eggs, milk and vanilla. Spread the pecan nuts inside the pie crust.

Pour the butter-sugar-mix on top.

Now just place in the oven for approx. 35-45 minutes. And you are ready!!
