The usually gloomy November month has started, but has served us with a few nice sunny autumn days so far. But it gets dark earlier now and how better can you enjoy that with cake and a cup of hot cocoa, coffee or tea?! And this slightly spicy tart is ideal to also warm you from inside!
See how to make here:
Ingredients
For the filling:
230g cream cheese
125g brown sugar (I used muscovado sugar)
2 eggs, 1 egg yolk
250ml liquid cream
50g flour
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
A little powdered sugar to decorate the cake before serving.
Possibly have whipped cream in the house to serve with the tart!
For the crust:
Either buy one or prepare yourself.
200g flour
100g butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
3-4 tablespoons cold water
Directions
Heat the oven to 175°C (air circulation).
For the crust:
Prepare the dough for the tart crust (or form the bought one into the tart form).
In a mixer, combine all the ingredients and then spread the dough into a pie form.
For the filling:
Mix cream cheese and sugar together until fluffy (approx. 3 minutes). Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add eggs, mix again. Now add flour, cream, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg and salt and mix slowly.
Now pour the cinnamon filling onto the tart crust.
Place in the oven for approx. 30 minutes, until the center seems set when jiggled, but not totally firm.
Dust the top with powdered sugar before serving. If desired, serve with some whipped cream! Enjoy!
