The best banana bread just got even better! I was inspired by a friend who added lovely chunky bits of dark chocolate to the mix and it was absolutely delicious. Give it a try!

See how to prepare here:

Ingredients for 6
300g flour (2 cups)
3 flat teaspoons baking powder
3-5 bananas (the more the better)
140ml sunflower oil (3/4 cup)
50g sugar (1/4 cup)
1 pack of vanilla sugar (approx. 10g)
1 egg
100g dark chocolate
Raisins / walnuts (optional)

Directions
Pre-heat the oven to 180°C (oven set to air circulation).

Squish the bananas in a container (not too much – leave a few chunks!). In a separate container mix flour and baking powder. Then add the egg, sugar, vanilla sugar and oil, including the bananas, mix shortly. Now add the chocolate in larger chunks. If you want to add raisins or walnuts, just add and mix with the rest of the dough. Now fill the dough into a rectangle bread baking tin, which you greased with butter slightly, so the dough does not stick and bake for 40-50 minutes. If the top should darken too much, just cover with a sheet of tin foil for the rest of the baking time. Just use a wooden skewer to check if the Banana Bread is ready – if still doughy, leave in for another bit, if the skewer is dry, its ready.
