One of my all time favorites and I just dug up this recipe from Martha Stewart again this winter. It’s honestly to die for!! The only downside is, that it does take some time in the oven, however if you are prepared and you have finished the main course, your guests are surely happy to wait a bit for the dessert. This is really a must-try!!
See the recipe here:
Ingredients for 4
Adapted from Martha Stewart
4 large pears, unpeeled (similar in size)
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons butter
Approx. 200-300ml of (liquidy) heavy cream (I used crème double/Doppelrahm)
Directions
Pre-heat the oven to 200°C (air circulation).
Butter a casserole form and sprinkle the first tablespoon sugar evenly. Wash, then halve and core the unpeeled pears. Place the pears cut side down into the form. Sprinkle with the remaining tablespoon sugar and flake the rest of the butter on top of the pears.
If the pears are fairly hard, bake for 20 minutes (otherwise approx. 10 minutes are enough). Remove the casserole from the oven and pour over the heavy cream and return to the oven for another 30 minutes. Serve warm.
