Some time ago, I posted the Polpettine recipe. An ideal combo to eat this tasty meal, is to add tomato sauce to the mix. Again, very Italian, however I actually never tried them this way…so I wanted to share with you!

See how to prepare here:

Ingredients
For the Polpettine, use the existing recipe here.

For the Tomato Sauce:
You can prepare yourself or buy a tomato sauce!

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion (finely diced)
1 vegetable bouillon cube
1 can of crushed tomatoes (without skin)
50g tomato purée
1 teaspoon brown sugar
Salt & pepper
Optional: Basil leaves

Directions
Heat the olive oil in a large pot, add the chopped onion and stir until glazed, then add the vegetable bouillon cube (no need to dissolve with water). Now add the tomatoes, the tomato purée and once heated up, add the sugar.  Season with salt & pepper to taste before serving. I also like adding a few leaves of fresh Basil.
