BBQ season is one of the best in the whole year, if you ask me. Therefore I am always on the lookout for great side dishes, next to the meat. Of course salads and grilled veggies are always great, these cheese-filled mushrooms are a perfect addition to the set of possibilities. I got to know them through my mother. Simple to make, only 2 ingredients necessary and just delicious.
See how to make here:
Ingredients
1 pack of large mushrooms (10-12)
100g mix of grated cheese (Emmentaler, Gouda, Mozzarella, etc.)
Salt & pepper
Directions
If you want to prepare in the oven: Pre-heat the oven to 200°C (oven set to air circulation).
Remove the stems of the mushrooms and fill the “hole” with the grated cheese, season with salt & pepper and place the filled mushrooms on a lined baking tray.
Place the baking tray in the oven for approx. 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown. Enjoy!
You can of course also prepare on the BBQ, you do the preparation as described above and place on the grill, careful that the mushrooms down burn. Probably best to place on an aluminum foil.
