Chocolate Cake – only with Egg Whites

Always when I have cooked something like a vanilla sauce or baked and only needed the egg yolks, I look for alternatives to use the left over egg whites. And I hate just wasting them for no reason. Plus I sometimes want to prepare something different than the classic Pavlova, that usually calls for if you have left over egg whites. So here is the perfect alternative – and lets be honest, chocolate cake is always a good idea!

Pita Bread with Tuna Salad

Sometimes in summer, we like to have little picknicks or have a meal outside, that you can easily bring along. This was always a snack our mother would make for us and we all loved it. And we really like the pita bread that was just the little bit different than normal bread.

Mascarpone Cream with Berries

One of the best things about summer are all the fresh berries. In our little backyard we have a blackberry bush or more like hedge. The berries are absolutley delicious, a delight just eating while picking. Luckily there is enough to still make marmelade and yummy desserts. So here goes!

Here is the recipe:

Bircher Muesli

Don’t know how it is with you guys, but if I would let my son choose any meal he’d like, first thing would be pasta (just with butter and Parmesan cheese), second definitely would be home made Bircher muesli. He just adores it, must-have being lots and lots of raisins! Perfect as a healthy start to the day as breakfast, but also ideal as a snack in the afternoon (or even dinner, if your kid convinces you!).

Little Pastry Appetizer with Funghi Porcini & Truffles

I can’t believe I haven’t been preparing this so much earlier. One of the most simple yet delicious appetizers that are prepared in no time! You only need a square sheet of puff pastry and a spread of your choice (I happened to have Funghi Porcini & truffles spread in the house). And you are just about done. Will definitely repeat with a artichoke spread or just a pesto with cheese sprinkled on top…

This is how you do it:
