Fresh Pears Baked in Cream

One of my all time favorites and I just dug up this recipe from Martha Stewart again this winter. It’s honestly to die for!! The only downside is, that it does take some time in the oven, however if you are prepared and you have finished the main course, your guests are surely happy to wait a bit for the dessert. This is really a must-try!!

Bread & Butter Pudding

The perfect comfort food and ideal to get rid of any leftover bread. We had a Swiss cheese fondue evening lately and had a lot of bite sized bread bits left. So on the Sunday evening it was Bread & Butter Pudding time! Fairly easy to prepare and you have most ingredients at home, I would guess.

Little tip on the side: If you have leftover carrot purée, just add a little broth and you have a wonderful soup!

Pecan Pie

Thanksgiving is around the corner and this year round, I wanted to prepare a new pie. We had a pre-thanksgiving-dinner at our friends place. Everyone brought something and our contribution was a pecan pie (and carrot cake – recipe to follow soon). Once again, an easy to prepare dessert…

Apricot Galette

Apple Crumble

IMG_0090Yummy scrummy and sooo easy! Apple Crumble is just one of the best desserts in the world. You only need a few ingredients and you are ready. We had quite some BBQ dinners lately and if you want to pre-prepare a little something sweet for afterwards, this is ideal. You can just toss it in the oven, once all the BBQ veggies from the oven for dinner are ready…plus this dessert just walks me down memory lane once again…

German Pancakes (Pfannkuchen)

Prettaly_GermanPancakes.JPG

Another lovely walk down memory lane…as children (and up to today) I adore German pancakes – they are a little different from the American version (which are much more fluffy) and also different to the French crepes, which are super thin.

You can prepare them sweet and salty – for example with a little cheese inside and / or ham. Or for the sweet version with apple sauce, a mix of cinnamon and sugar, Nutella, marmalade or my favorite with butter and sugar on top! Yum!!

Coconut Rice Pudding

The taste and smell of coconut always reminds me of vacation. Somewhere a little exotic…not sure about you, but if we travel anywhere, where you can get a fresh coconut to drink, I’m the first to grab it! Super refreshing and just mind-blowing delicious!
So why not combine this summer feeling with one of my favorite comfort foods?
So this was a try and I just adore it! Hope you like it too!
